We love to mix patterns - don't you? But we also love mixing colors, shapes, and textures as well. Our Cantaria Charger in Morning Sky is a great base for any place setting. We've added the registry-favorite Isabella Pure White Octagonal Dinner and Azores Blue Lagoon Stripe Salad and Mug. Our new Botanical napkin (coming soon!!) is the perfect spring addition!

Enjoy one of our best loved designs with our porcelain tray that exactly fits our guest soap.  ( We call it a guest soap for its small yet it is ample enough).   This sensual and brilliant soap is a pure delight, combining the intensity of blooming rose, jasmine and tart cassis with Damascus plum and white peach.  A base of golden sandalwood and liquid amber completes this unique formulation.
We traveled to Vermont to a fine soap manufacturer and ...Read more of post

Ever wonder how a mint julep cup is made? It begins as a completely flat disc of pewter. Our highly skilled artisans place it on a lathe and slowly pull the metal over a form until the desired shape is achieved. This process is called metal spinning and it is only one part to making a mint julep cup! Design elements will be added, a base will be soldered on, and the whole cup will be hand polished to a mirror finish. Scroll through the photos to see a julep cup getting ...Read more of post

A Salisbury mini-history lesson in honor of the upcoming derby: Our Kentucky Julep Cups were inspired by the designs of such early American craftsmen as Asa Blanchard of Lexington, KY and William and Archibald Cooper of Louisville, KY. The cup’s straight body lines and graceful moldings at the base and rim are typical of designs they used. Kentuckians have been giving, receiving, and using the cups of these designs for over 100 years. It is a favorite for weddings, ...Read more of post

Blue and white is always in style. The Pattern of Month this month is Mottahedeh's Imperial Blue.

Since the Ming Dynasty, imperial blue and white porcelains have been prized by collectors and connoisseurs around the world. Edged in 22k gold, this underglazed blue dinner service is based on a Chinese export porcelain pattern, ca. 1730. The elegant design features a central flowered medalion, continuous collar and floral sprays.

Our ever popular Tobacco Leaf is the Pattern of the Month this month! With over 40 pieces that we currently sell, it's one of our most sought out designs and what Mottahedeh is truly known for.

This extravagant design was originally made in China, probably for export to the Portuguese and Brazilian markets. Of all the 18th - century dinnerware patterns, this was the most highly prized. A small phoenix bird perches on the leaves of the flowering Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant. ...Read more of post
